Welcome to the American Fork
Pressurized Irrigation Project Web Site
In the fall of 2006 the voters of American Fork City approved a $47
Million General Obligation bond to implement a City-wide pressure irrigation
system. This approval will allow the City to better utilize its current
water resources and better provide for future water needs. The City has
since selected a team of engineering consultants to design the system and
assist the City in construction. Team members consist of Horrocks Engineers,
Franson Civil Engineers, and Hansen, Allen, & Luce Engineers.
The goals of the project are to begin construction in the fall of 2007 with
completion in the spring of 2010. We are anticipating that approximately 1/3
of the system will be operational in the spring of 2008 with 2/3 operational
in the spring of 2009.
Construction of the project will affect everyone within the City because
nearly every street will have a new water line installed in it. We will do
all we can to minimize the disturbance and hope everyone will be patient and
understanding.
This web site will provide the public with information about the project
including: public meetings, construction schedules, frequently asked
questions, connection requirements, and other useful information. We hope
many will take advantage of the information.
Regards,
The American Fork Pressurized Irrigation Project Team, 763-5281
